Microsoft is planning to include a new and useful function to the search feature on its Windows 10 taskbar, as discovered by Microsoft Community member HotCakeX. On top of assisting the user to look up for local documents, applications and so on, this new feature integrates the search bar with Microsoft’s own Edge web browser.
According to tech website Windows Latest, the search bar will fully sync with Microsoft Edge, therefore enabling it to display your favourites or bookmarks, browsing history, top sites and even recent tabs from the browser. In addition, it is also able to access your mobile browsing history as long as you’re using the web browser on your smartphone or tablet as well.
It’s also worth noting that this new feature is optional, meaning that the user has the ability to disable it entirely if they so wish. Disabling the integration will remove all data and browsing history shared between Microsoft Edge and Windows in order to maintain privacy.
