Alleged Intel Core i5-11600K Leaks; Features Six-Cores, 4.9GHz Boost Clock

While rumours regarding Intel’s 11th Gen Rocket Lake-S desktop CPU have been slowly trickling down the grapevine, there has been little news or information regarding the chipmaker’s less-premium processors in the lineup. Until recently, up until a certain Core i5 CPU made its way online.

The CPU in question is reportedly Intel’s Core i5-11600K, with the information having been posted on Geekbench. According to the details on the page, the 11600K is supposedly set to be a 6-cores, 12-threads CPU, with a base and boost clock of 3.9GHz and 4.9GHz, respectively. In this instance, the CPU was tested using a Gigabyte Z490M motherboard, as well as 16GB DDR4 RAM, running at 2133MHz.

Performance-wise, the alleged 11600K has a single-core score of 1565 points, while its multi-core performance achieved 6220 points. By comparison, the processor is a tad less potent than its direct competitor, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, which has the same number of cores and threads. But still pulls ahead of the Rocket Lake-S CPU, especially in the multi-core segment.

While the information has indeed appeared on Geekbench, Intel still hasn’t released any details regarding the CPU and such, the standard consumption of sodium applies. The good news is that we may not have to wait long for an official announcement, seeing how Intel’s Rocket Lake-S launch is happening next month.
