Samsung officially confirmed the existence of its Galaxy Buds Pro at its virtual Unpacked 2021 event today. The earbuds are the latest addition to Samsung’s already wide portfolio of TWS earbuds and its the Korean tech giant’s latest and most premium earbuds.
Specs-wise, both earbuds of the Bud Pro feature a combination of an 11mm Woofer and a 6.5mm tweeter, in order to deliver what Samsung says are deeper bass, crisp treble with minimal distortion, and ultimately providing a more “dynamic, balanced” sound in your ears. In addition, the earbuds are also built with three microphones, a voice pickup unit, and a windshield that should, in practice, block out external noises that aren’t your voice.
Like most modern TWS earbuds, the Buds Pro also comes with an accoutrement of noise cancellation technology. This includes a 2-level ANC, 4-level Ambient sound setting, and a feature that automatically detects when you begin speaking. Other features include an IPX7 water resistance rating and uses Bluetooth 5.0 to connect to your smartphone (presumably, a Galaxy device).
Moving on, powering the Buds Pro are 61mAh batteries in each earbud, while its charging case houses a larger 472mAh that offers one hour of playtime for just five minutes of charging. As for its endurance, the Buds Pro can continuously playback music for five hours with ANC turned on, and up to eight hours with ANC turned off. Including the casing, you can expect up to an additional 20 hours of playback, with charging periods in between.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro will be available starting from today, and will be available in three colours: Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Violet. Given its availability, it’s safe to say that we can expect a local pricing and availability for the earbuds to be announced soon.
