The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress is deliberating on a bill on the 22th where they plan to outlaw "big eating" themed videos, a fine up to 100,000 CNY (RM60k) will be imposed.
Fines will also be imposed on restaurants that have customers order large quantities and allow leftovers.
There are also criticism over the bill on Chinese social media, "The law is overkill, what if the food is really bad?"
Xi Jinping had personally ordered the crackdown on "big eating" videos in August which had been popular with youth, and since then the videos had disappeared from Chinese media space.
