ASUS Accidentally Outs NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti With 20GB GDDR6X

While the world of PC gamers continue to remain starved of NVIDIA’s Ampere-powered GeForce RTX 30 series cards, the rumour mill continues to churn and pump information about a possible RTX 3080 Ti. In this round, it is the Taiwanese brand, ASUS, who seems to have let the cat out of the bag about the GPU.

The brand’s cock-up and accidental confirmation happened when the PC components and laptop maker listed the alleged RTX 3080 Ti on its support page. It lists two variants of the card – a standard and overclocked version – both under ASUS’ ROG Strix lineup. Additionally, the listing seemingly confirms the card’s rumoured graphics memory, 20GB GDDR6X.

Unsurprisingly, the listing has since been removed by ASUS, but it’s fair to say that this revelation is akin to a happy little accident and gives us an idea of what we can look forward to next year. Additionally and to be fair, this isn’t the first time a brand has accidentally revealed the existence of the RTX 3080 Ti.

For that matter, rumours about a potential RTX 3080 Ti have been making its rounds online for some months now. Back in November, the internet hinted at the possibility of the card being launched in January, with a possible February release. That rumour has been partially confirmed via a special GeForce event that NVIDIA will be livestreaming on 12 January.
