Believe it or not, the TravelMate series has been a staple of Acer’s commercial catalogue for more than two decades. In fact, the TravelMate has actually been around since 1990 before the Taiwanese company got its hands on the name after acquiring Texas Instruments’ mobile computing business in 1997.
The company has recently launched the refreshed version of TravelMate P2 alongside the Enduro rugged laptop and tablet series in Malaysia. Even though the laptop is not designated as a rugged model as per Enduro N3, the TravelMate P2 still to withstand plenty of MIL-STD-810G tests including an extreme range of operating temperature from -32C to 49C for more than 8 hours as well as rain and vibration.
The TravelMate P2 has also been designed to be able to survive drops from the height of 1.22m multiple times together with a high level of humidity for a prolonged time. Weighing at 1.6kg, the current iteration of the business laptop features a physical webcam cover and Windows Hello-compatible fingerprint reader on its touchpad.
Essentially, what really new about the latest version of Travelmate P2 is the 11th Gen Intel Core processor options that Acer has provided for it. In Malaysia, they include the Intel Core i3-1115G4 and Core i5-1135G7:
Available in four variants as noted in the specs sheet above, the newly refreshed TravelMate P2 can be obtained immediately from all authorized Acer retailers both online and offline with a starting price of RM 2699.
