Cyberpunk 2077 Gets Delayed Again To 10 December

Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed multiple times already, and now it’s getting one more delay. Developer CD Projekt Red announced that it is pushing the release date one more time, this time by 21 days. This means that it will be out only on 10 December.

The two heads of CDPR, Adam Badowski and Marcin Iwinski, made the joint statement on the Cyberpunk 2077 social media accounts. They justified their decision by saying that they are making the game for nine different platforms. Effectively, they are making nine different versions of it. And that 21 days may not sound like a lot, but makes a big enough difference for the dev team.

They also clarified that Cyberpunk 2077 going gold back in October just meant that the game can be completed. But the studio is still working on the game and improving it. They also said that, in fact, it’s only after going gold that many improvements are made and then distributed as a Day 0 patch. And this is the undercalculation that caused the delay.

Now, delaying Cyberpunk 2077 is fine and all, but then what was the whole crunch kerfuffle all about then? After saying that the studio has exhausted all options and that crunching was the only option left, we now get this. Things certainly don’t add up, hopefully the game does come 10 December.
