According to Ikea, their current priority is to resume delivery for existing orders that were placed before 27 April, and will be contacting customers who have been affected by the delay for scheduling. However, the brand explains that assembly services are not allowed due to health restrictions and as not to place customers at risk. They are also following up with the authorities to seek a contactless assembly solution that is compliant with the MCO directives.
Ikea’s updated delivery guidelines require all staff to undergo temperature screenings at their warehouse and must also wear surgical masks and gloves at all times. Delivery workers are also required to sanitise their hands prior to entering a customer’s home, on top of maintaining the compulsory safety wear requirement. Customers are required to confirm with the delivery staff on where they wish to have the products placed, as well as maintaining social distancing during the process of delivery.
Customers are reminded that all Ikea stores in Malaysia are still closed during MCO, with the exception of its restaurants that are available for take-out or delivery orders. All of the brand’s products can be purchased via Ikea’s online store. In addition, their online planning tool is also available to customers who require assistance with home planning.
