Film Industry To Resume After Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Filming activities remain one of the still restricted activities during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMOC). Though it looks like the restriction will be lifted. The government is allowing the film industry to resume operations after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The approval was given during a recent National Security Council (NSC) meeting. Communications and Multimedia Minister Saifuddin Abdullah said filmmakers are allowed to shoot while adhering to strict standard operating procedures (SOP). He said this during Harith Iskander’s recent Stay At Home Live panel discussion.

As for live programs, Saifuddin said that this is still under discussion by the MNC committee. The committee will still have to make assessments for large crowds gathering is places. Saifuddin also said he will meet with people of the industry this week to learn more about live program operations and production.

Strict SOP aside, it’s good news for those involved in filming who can’t wait to get back to work. For other businesses restricted by the CMCO though, it looks like the wait will be a little longer. Goodness knows some of us desperately need a haircut, among other things.
