Here’s Where You Can Donate To Help Fight The COVID-19 Pandemic in Malaysia

The COVID-19 pandemic puts everyone in a tight spot. But as always, there are, unfortunately, those who need more help than us. And with this medical crisis,  front line health workers have also been put into this category.

While not all of us can be on the front lines, there are other things we can do to help fight the good fight. And with that, here are a number of organisations that you can donate to for the cause. We’ve divided them into categories, so that you know exactly what you’re giving for.

For The Frontliners

Exactly what it says on the tin. These are who to donate to if you want your donations to go straight to the front-liners fighting the pandemic. Donations to these charities and organisations will be used to fund the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) to be used by the front-liners.

Donations

While many of us are well off enough to survive this Movement Control Order (MCO), there are many who struggle to do so. Funds donated this way will help them weather this pandemic, getting them the financial aid they may need to get treatment.

Charities

Not too different from the category above, donations to these organisations will also go to those impacted by COVID-19 and the MCO. But more than just that, these organisations are also actively involved in the process itself.

Street Kitchens

As the category suggests, these organisations deal with food specifically. Donating to these organisations ensure that the needy do not go hungry, especially during these trying times. One entry here actually deals with books and education, but has concentrated its efforts on the food side of things during the MCO.

Animal Welfare

Things are definitely tough for people with the COVID-19 pandemic and the MCO, and as a result it’s become difficult for animals too. Donate to these organisations so that the welfare of animals are protected, in the same way we protect the welfare of our fellow humans.

DIY Protective Equipment For Frontliners

This is likely the most unique bunch in the list. Rather than outright buying PPE to be given to front-liners, these groups make the PPE, mostly via 3D printing. Donations to them will be used to get the raw materials to make the PPE.
If you’re able, consider donating to one of these organisations and welfare efforts. If not, then we’ll just have to continue staying safe, by staying in and together we stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, we believe that there are still plenty of relief aid and efforts out there that deserve to be in this. Please let us know through the comment section below as well as Twitter and Facebook as we’ll do our best to update this list throughout MCO.
