Audio-Technica Announces Its First Truly Wireless Earbuds

Ever since Apple AirPods became a thing, other manufacturers had also dabbled in their own take of truly wireless earbuds. Samsung had its Gear IconX, and Sony had the feature-rich WF-SP700N. And now it’s the turn of Audio-Technica with its ATH-CKR7TW.

The ATH-CKR7TW buds come with 11mm drivers that have a diamond-like carbon coated diaphragm for a number of benefits. These include, as Audio-Technica claims, better high-frequency response, reduced distortion, and reduce unwanted resonance.
Moving onto more concrete figures, the ATH-CKR7TW supports Bluetooth 5.0 aptX and AAC codecs, and can pump music through your ears for six hours. Its carrying case also acts as a charging station of sorts, which gives the earbuds an additional nine hours of music playback.

Being earbuds, they also come with extra eartips, in XS, S M and L sizes. As for colour options, they come in black and grey.
The Audio-Technica ATH-CKR7TW is priced at US$250 (~RM1027). It is said to be available starting Fall 2018, but we’re not sure what that means for the local market. Hopefully, when it makes its way here the prices will also get adjusted. As it is now, it is pricier than any of the other truly wireless buds that me mentioned above.
